Lesson 10: Spiritual Inventory Part 1

6/26/2013

Picture
This week begins the first of two lessons in which we will look at our spiritual inventory, using the "Spiritual Evaluation" tool.
We will focus on these 4 areas of the Spiritual Evaluation tool this week:
  1. Relationships with others.
  2. Priorities in your life.
  3. Your attitude.
  4. Your integrity.

Principle 4: Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust.
"Happy are the pure in heart." Matthew 5:8

Step 4: We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
"Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the LORD." Lamentations 3:40

Do you know everyone has three different "characters"?
  1. The character we exhibit.
  2. The character we think we have.
  3. The character we truly have.

God's Word tells us, "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test my thoughts. Point out anything you find in me that makes you sad, and lead me along the path of everlasting life." Psalm 139:23-24 TLB

Principle 4: Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust.
-- "Happy are the pure in heart." Matthew 5:8

Step 4: We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
--"Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord." Lamentations 3:40

Don't wait to start your inventory! Don't let any obstacle stand in your way. If you don't have a sponsor or accountability partner yet, talk to someone soon! Begin creating that team of people who will help you find true healing through Christ. If you don't have a Participant's Guide, pick them up at the Information Table on any Friday night. The complete set is $20.

Set a time and place to get busy!! You can do it!!

Start meditating on and memorizing Isaiah 1:18 "The LORD says, “Now, let’s settle the matter. You are stained red with sin, but I will wash you as clean as snow. Although your stains are deep red, you will be as white as wool."
A balanced inventory is essential to your healing. Reflect on both the good and the bad in your life. Allow God to show you the good you have done as you also begin to receive His forgi

It's Testimony week!!!

Join us on Friday night this week for a touching testimony from a lady whom Christ helped overcome intense fear and co-dependency issues.
Psalm 25:9-10 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant. (NIV)

Fresh Start Cafe menu: Meatball Sandwiches, chips, and salad.

NOTE: This week's meeting will be a little different. Our location in the building is all that will change.  We are sharing the building with a wedding party. They will be decorating the chapel, foyer, and auditorium. We will meet in the Teen Wing. Don't worry, there will be plenty of signs to help you find your way! And, as always, we have a good plan in place to maintain confidentiality and anonymity.
